Christmas triffle 2016
« on: December 23, 2016, 10:41:52 AM »
G'day
Over the years triffle is the Xmas treat. It changes year by year.
This year definitely adult and will not be served to anyone that's driving.

1 x packet Coles mini choc Swiss rolls
1/3 cup double strenght coffee
1/3 cup port or rum
1 x made up "port wine jelly"
500 ml thick custard
1/3 cup baileys Irish cream
Cheeks of a couple of mangos or can of mango slices
1 x made up Mango jelly
Cream for top.

Cut the choc rolls into 1/3 rds and place in bottom of container. Use spoon to add coffee and port to all parts. Use hands to break jelly up and spread over choc roll layer.
Water down thick custard with bsileys Irish cream and use for next layer.
Add layer of mango cheeks and again break up jelly add layer of the mango jelly.
Wrap the container in wrap and place in fridge for 12 to 24 hours.
Serve with cream

I've taste tested all ingredients so I'm a bit weary so I'm off to bed.
Regards dave

Not much of a desert eater but I'd give that a crack.

Pics of the finished job please.

Parfait is the spelling Smokey ;). I spend a lot of time as the office spellcheck. (How do you spell this?) 8)

G'day
Far from me to triffle with a families traditions....
I had 2 lots of grandparents. The English lot it was dry sherry before the meal and sweet sherry with the sweet.
The other mob were... how can you put it... More of convict stock... Port wine and rum were thier fare.
