Hi All,

I made a Quiche...aahemmm, I mean Bacon and egg pie (real men don't eat quiche) ;D
the other night, first time. It was easy and turned out great. I think I will be making them regularly now.

Looks good
Ive made a few recently, with leftovers got some monster chicken breasts that I saved a bit of and used in a quiche with leek and mushroom was excellent.

Goes well with a rocket or watercress salad (Ive got heaps growing now, rocket comes on in the wet season)

Had a really good one in France a friend made
Paint the pastry with dijon mustard then add sliced tomatoes and a tin of tuna and the usual cream eggs and gruyere cheese.

Aldi had some a while back and Ive got it in the fridge just for this
Good thing is I can reseal the packets in the cryovac just the right type of plastic the re- seals

 :)

I forget who the idiot was who coined that real men phrase but quiche is a staple around here and I don't exactly have any gender issues :)

Looks good to me Aristos, might even knock one up over the weekend myself :)

Cheers

One of my favorite meals...Partial to that bacon, onion, Swiss and spinach quiche pie!  Very nice touch with the Scallions!

Leek and mushroom, will have to rip that idea off!

G'day Bently
End of winter here so the onions and leeks are plentiful.
Had a few potato and leek soups. Last years spuds are "flowery" and a perfect match with this years leek. Have a few " new season" spuds from the garden
( too few it seems) we have been enjoying them boiled skin on with a bit of proper butter.
Regards dave
